FY2 Competencies

Hi. Can anyone clarify? :

Does obtaining full registration with licence to practise mean FY2 competencies have been signed off, or does it mean FY1 competencies have been?

Many thanks.

Registration and license to practice has nothing to do with your competencies.

Your clinical experience is related to this.

The competencies is actually a list of activities/capabilities. Now if you have done all that while being a registered doctor and a consultant agrees with that, there you go you can get the competencies signed off.

We tend to tie our competencies with passing exams but in the UK it’s not always like that. It’s mostly linked with your consultant/supervisors assessment of your work.

Okay, thanks a whole lot. You’ve cleared things up. Appreciate it.
