FY2 Standalone or UKFPO

As the majority of us are approaching our graduation from medical school, there’s still a dilemma that what approach should we take for the UK journey. Though the exams are more or less the same in both pathways, which one should an individual choose?

In as much as both are training jobs, you need to know the eligibility criteria for each.

FY2 standalone is for doctors who hold or are eligible for full registration with the GMC ( meaning you have already done an acceptable pattern of internship)

UKFP( the 2 years foundation program which starts from FY1) is for doctors eligible for Provisional Registration( meaning you have not done an acceptable pattern of internship or not done an internship at all)

Based on this, i think now you will know which one to go for.
