I thought I could go to my American medical school and take my USMLE steps and apply for training in the UK. No. They say I need to either have the one year residency involving medicine and surgery minimum to apply to the UK training or I’ll need to do two years of rotations again. Is there any way I can do some rotations in the US and some rotations in the UK and apply for both residencies using the USMLE and avoid repeating rotations via the UKFoundation Programme?
