I am a medical intern, currently doing my first-year internship in my home country.
I have a question regarding recommendation letters which are usually given by the consultant upon request.
Are these recommendation letters important for the portfolio ( for the UK speciality training)?

Not really.
You’ll need references from your seniors when applying for jobs/ observerships. Usually, they are contacted through email by the HR team and only have to complete a form and send it back.
