Hi, I have a quick question, assuming all other requirements are met, is a residency internship year in pediatrics in the US qualified as an acceptable internship for UK to act as an equivalent of F1 and or F2? And if it is, can an applicant then apply directly to F2 or maybe even specialty training?
So the basic rule of thumb to remember is that if you are speaking of internship in the ideal sense of 12 months long - 3 months should be in medicine and 3 in surgery respectively.
Your case is a bit different as interns in the US already join a residency program which is specialised in nature. Your best option would be email GMC directly and get them to verify your queries. Hope this helps! Xx
